Autobiography

My name is Thy huynh. I am a Dental Hygiene student at University of Bridgeport- Fones school of Dental Hygiene. I am going to graduate in May, 2019.

I always want to do something in order to improve people’s lives since I was a little kid. That is the reason why I want to be a part of the health field. I have chosen Dental Hygiene as my career because I can treat patients, improve patient’s oral health and give them a beautiful smile. In this field, I can teach my patients how to take better care of their health, starting with their oral health. There is nothing more exciting than a patient coming in for their continued care appointments and being able to measure their improvement.  In contrast, when things are getting worse, I get to continue to educate and help them to realize why they need to take charge of their health.

I have constantly been in President’s List during my two years at University of Bridgeport. I have been a part of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society since 2017. I have completed over 600 hours of clinical experience. I have performed periodontal debridement, taken numerous radiographs, administered local anesthesia. I have done community services, taken impression, laser therapy, Velscope screenings, placed Arestin. I also learned Wand which is a computer-assisted system for local anesthesia.

I am confident with all the skills and knowledge that I have gained at Fones school of Dental Hygiene. I believe I will be able to build up my skills and knowledge in private practice in the future.
